About This Songwright
Growing up the son of a piano teacher meant making a choice: learn piano and be happy, or learn piano and be miserable. Luckily, Caleb Miller, known by his stage name Vagabond Grove, quickly fell in love with music, and began songwriting at the age of 11. Soon after, he began trying out any instrument he could get his hands on- from strings to horns to drums- later arranging and recording his own music at home. Living in the Ozarks, he was inspired by traditional folk, bluegrass, and gospel music, while also studying jazz and blues as well as rock and pop from the 60s to today. This rounded approach lent itself to diverse influences including folk singers from Bob Dylan to Noah Kahan, classic rock bands from The Beatles to CCR, and even jazz greats from Glen Miller to Donald Fagen. Performing for crowds since childhood, the stage became a second home in no time.
Caleb took the dive into the music business in 2016, booking, managing, and funding his first tour, with many more to follow. Now, with over 20 years’ of performing experience, and a decade on the road as an independent artist, Vagabond Grove has released 2 full-length records, several singles, and is currently in production on his next album. Merging folk and americana with rock and jazz elements, Vagabond Grove is known for a signature style dubbed “Esoteric Grooves.” Powerful vocals combine with driving guitar, harmonica, mandolin and more from this multi-instrumentalist. The live show consists of heartfelt original music, classic cover songs, and personal stories from the life of a traveling musician.
