Storyteller Songwrights is a growing creative collective built around original music, honest storytelling, and live connection.
We host Monthly Showcases, Weekly Spotlights, and pop-up Sessions in the Joplin, MO community and beyond. In addition, we are planning to develop Songwriter networking events, Workshops, and collaborative events designed to support songwriters at every stage, from first draft to finished performance.
This site is currently under construction as we continue building the full Storyteller ecosystem.
This future site will host upcoming events, booking requests, artist profiles, information about upcoming events, ways to get involved, and how to connect with the songwriting community.

This isn’t an open mic. It’s a listening room built for writers. Come listen. Support original music. Be part of the story.
Our Events
Storyteller Showcase
This curated songwriter concert presented in a round-robin format, where artists take turns performing original songs and sharing the stories behind them. Designed as a focused listening experience, the Showcase highlights songwriting craft and connection. It also serves as the primary entry point into the Storyteller Songwrights collective.
Best for: First-time performers, featured songwriters, deep listening experiences.
Storyteller Spotight
The Storyteller Spotlight is a short-form performance designed to introduce audiences to a songwriter in a focused, high-impact set. Artists perform a handful of original songs with brief insight into their process and perspective. Spotlights are often paired with larger events or shared bills, offering a powerful snapshot of an artist’s voice and vision.
Best for: Artist discovery, opening sets, concise performances.
Storyteller Sessions
Storyteller Sessions is an informal, conversational event where two songwriters perform original material in a round-robin sharing the ideas, experiences, and techniques behind their work. Sessions may include discussion, collaboration, or shared insight, creating a space that feels part performance, part workshop. The goal is connection; between songwriters, and between artist and audience.
Best for: Insight, dialogue, collaboration, community.
